China-based ZTE Corporation is planning to invest Rs 2 billion in the Indian telecom sector in 2010-11. A large part of this investment will be made in its engineering centre in Bangalore, and other research and development activities across the country. In Bangalore, ZTE develops value-added software solutions that support its GSM and CDMA network equipment, including base tower stations, mobile switching centres, base station controllers and microwave networks.
