Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies has reportedly signed a contract with Telephone al Iraq to set up a 3G CDMA2000 telecom network.

Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies has reportedly signed a contract with Telephone al Iraq to set up a 3G CDMA2000 telecom network. The network is expected to begin commercial operations within the next few months. Meanwhile, Iraqtel has employed Canadian vendor Redline to build a Wi-Max network in Basrah. This will provide a cost-effective alternative to VSAT for broadband connections.
