
Chinese smartphone maker, PhiComm plans to foray in to the Indian handset market. The company is expected to launch its smartphone devices in the country in June 2015. PhiComm is expected to price its devices in the Indian market between $100 and $200.
The company which also has interests in the telecom equipment manufacturing will begin by importing its devices in India initially. However, over a period of two to three years, the company has plans of establishing local manufacturing capacity in India.
Meanwhile, PhiComm plans to set up a research and development centre in India within a period of one year. It is also exploring the opportunity of establishing a data centre in the country.
