The government of Chhattisgarh has announced a phased rollout of over 5,000 mobile towers, with a key focus on enhancing connectivity in the tribal-dominated regions of Surguja and Bastar. The Chief Minister (CM) of the state has directed officials to expedite the installation of both mobile towers and fibre optic networks as part of the state’s broader digital transformation initiative.

Reaffirming Chhattisgarh’s commitment to the ‘Viksit Chhattisgarh 2047’ vision, aligned with government’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ roadmap, the CM termed electronics and information technology as crucial pillars of development. Additionally, he instructed officials to upgrade the state data centre to Tier-III standards to ensure improved digital infrastructure reliability.

Moreover, the government has set a defined timeline to complete the infrastructure rollout in a structured, phase-wise manner.
