Champion Computers, an indigenous manufacturer of mobile phones plans to set-up up a manufacturing unit in Himachal Pradesh.
The work on the construction of the manufacturing unit is already in progress and it is expected to be completed by June-end 2014. Initially, Champion Computers plans to manufacture about 100,000 mobile devices from the unit and aims to triple the production by end of 2014.
The company has a tie-up with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited for selling co-branded products along with bundled offerings. These include smartphones, tablets and data cards etc.
At present, the company has a network of about 3,000 dealers and a distribution network including 14 branch offices and 400 service centers. Going forward, the company plans to make significant investment to expand its distribution network.
