The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will reportedly finalise its decision on commercial launch of the 4G services by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
However, no specific timeline has been committed by the officials yet.
Recently, the telco had submitted its response to the DoT which is further set to table suggestions to the empowered technology group (ETG), headed by principal scientific advisor Krishnaswamy VijayRaghavan.
To this end, BSNL is also expecting a fair hearing from the empowered group.
The ETG was set up to advise the government on its technology supplier and procurement strategy, to develop in-house expertise in policy and use aspects of emerging technologies and develop an indigenisation roadmap for selected key technologies.
