The Competition Commission of India has given clearance to KEC International?s deal to sell its 381 telecom sites in Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Mizoram to American Tower Corporation?s (ATC) Indian arm. The deal, valued at $13 million was signed in April 2015.
KEC International, whose core business is to design and install transmission towers and transmission lines, has a small portfolio of telecom sites built as part of forward integration of its telecom tower installation business. For ATC, this is the fourth such acquisition in India, taking its total tower assets to over 13,000 in the country.
