
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) quizzed R. Krishna Kumar, chairman of the Tata Group?s realty and infrastructure arm and its managing director and chief executive officer, Sanjay G. Ubale, in connection with the 2G spectrum allocation issue, according to news reports.
The two officials were questioned regarding an alleged Rs 16 billion loan extended to Unitech to procure 2G spectrum.
Prior to this, the CBI had questioned Sanjay Chandra of Unitech on issues relating to off-loading of majority stake to Norway based company Telenor after getting 2G spectrum license. The CBI is probing whether Tata Real Estate had paid Rs 16 billion to Unitech for a land deal at a time when the real estate company was applying for 2G license in 2007.
