Vinod Goenka, director, Swan Telecom has told a Delhi court that the Central Bureau of Investigation?s (CBI) attempt to impose the charge of criminal breach of trust on the individuals indicted in the 2G spectrum allocation case was ill-timed, ill-motivated and misconceived.
Goenka’s counsel Majeed Memon said, ?The CBI’s present application is misconceived, ill-timed and ill-motivated and it may be dismissed with cost. I call it ill-timed because this court is meant to hear this case only. This case is of public importance and it is being monitored by the Supreme Court.?
Memon added, “I would like to ask the CBI and this court about what took place on September 26, 2011, or soon before it, that prompted the agency to present this fresh application at this juncture.?
