The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), Vinod Rai, has offered to furnish an explanation to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), on the method used to determine the loss caused by 2G spectrum allocation as Rs 1.76 trillion.

Prior to this, PAC had planned to question the official who had conducted an audit of spectrum allocation in 2008. R.P. Singh, former director general of Audit (Post and Telecommunications) will appear before the PAC at its next meeting as a witness.

The Committee is expected to question him about the methods he used to estimate the losses in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
