The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) is developing a secure video-conferencing (VC) platform for the government and the courts. A version of the platform will also be made available for the public.

C-DoT’s VC software will come on the back of Aarogya Setu app and Samvaad. As per industry sources, the VC platform will be expanding on all features of Zoom and Microsoft Teams and is almost ready for deployment. The platform will run on a government of India server.

Apart from features like host, moderator and participants, the indigenous VC platform will also have a feature of waiting room from where those wanting to join the online meeting, can be kept in line by the moderator. It will also enable presentations to be shared directly on the screens of the participants.

That apart, social messaging app Samvaad will also be made available in two versions one for the public and one for high-level government communication.
