BT has appointed Harmeen Mehta as chief digital and innovation officer to lead its new technology unit BT Digital.
Mehta will begin her stint on March 1, 2021 and will be reporting to chief executive officer (CEO) Philip Jansen. Further, Mehta will also work closely with the Board, the chief technology officer (CTO) and BT’s customer-facing units to drive the company’s digital transformation.
The new unit BT Digital will focus on the development and rapid delivery of innovative products, platforms and services in key areas such as healthcare and data. In addition, it will include accountability for IT, digital innovation, BT-wide business transformation and data and product strategy.
Mehta comes with24 years of experience and was most recently serving Bharti Airtel as Group CIO, as well as leading their cloud and security businesses. Before Airtel, Mehta held CIO positions at BBVA, HSBC and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
