Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is persuading private telecom operators to jointly set up interconnect exchanges ?? one in each circle ?? to route calls from one network to another in order to reduce network congestion. Currently, calls from one network to another are passed on directly at the points of interconnection between the two networks. The cost of an interconnect exchange would be around Rs 1-Rs 1.5 billion.
