As per industry sources, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is planning to launch its 4G commercial services in August 2022.
The operator will introduce its 4G services with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its technology partner. This will be the maiden entry of TCS into telecom equipment manufacturing business.
Moreover, BSNL has planned to set up 100,000 telecom towers across the country, including at least 4,000 in Bihar. The telco will also offer its 4G services in Delhi and Mumbai.
The telco will reportedly begin with monopoles instead of installing smart towers. This step is aimed at reducing the overall cost and increasing efficiency.
