The parliament was informed that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is planning to install about 112,000 towers throughout the country.
To this end, BSNL is in the process of ordering 6,000 towers immediately and then an additional 6,000 followed by a final order of 100,000 towers to be installed all over the country for the 4G network.
As per telecom minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the internet connection inside trains can be made available only when the 5G network will be rolled out as communications get disrupted with 4G technology in trains running with the speed of 100 km per hour. The minister also informed that the indigenous 4G telecom network is ready for roll out soon.
Meanwhile, the development of 5G technology is going on in parallel and will be ready in a few months.
