Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is set to award contracts of BharatNet Phase-III to Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) and Pratap Technocrats Private Limited (PTPL) following the completion of the ongoing financial evaluation. With the final leg of its large-scale fibre rollout, BSNL aims to digitally connect more than 0.6 million villages, targeting the closure of India’s digital divide by the end of 2028.
TCIL and PTPL emerged as the lowest bidders for the remaining four packages under BharatNet Phase-III. In addition, BSNL mentioned that it intends to complete the BharatNet initiative within the next three years, bringing nationwide broadband connectivity closer to fruition.
