Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced multiple service launches, including the soft rollout of its 4G network in the Delhi. The 4G services will be accessible through a partner’s network access arrangement. It has also introduced eSIM services in Tamil Nadu. The eSIM offering allows customers to activate mobile connections without a physical SIM on compatible smartphones and wearables. It supports remote provisioning via secure QR codes, with digital know-your-customer (KYC) at BSNL service centres ensuring faster onboarding. The service will be expanded nationwide in phases.
In addition, BSNL has begun expanding its network-driven anti-spam and anti-smishing solution for its 90 million mobile subscribers. Developed with Hyderabad-based Tanla Platforms, the artificial intelligence (AI)/ machine learning (ML)-powered system operates on the network side, requiring no separate app or settings change. It detects over 1.5 million scams daily and identifies more than 35,000 fraudulent links and 60,000 scam mobile/WhatsApp numbers monthly.
