Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has released November 2019 salaries of its 163,000 employees. As per industry sources, the cumulative amount released for salary payment is around Rs 8 billion.
BSNL is hoping to start disbursing salaries in a timely manner in another three-four months time. The operator is expecting more clarity on this subject post January 31, 2020. This is the day when all the BSNL employees who have opted for the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) will serve their last day.
Meanwhile, the state run operator has also released a sum of around Rs 17 billion through internal accrual and bank loans. This will be used to pay off its vendors and creditors.
