Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has postponed its 4G tender by 15 days from March 8, 2020 to May 23, 2020.

Earlier, BSNL had announced the expansion of its 4G network by installing 50,000 new sites across the country and floated an online bid submission tender open till May 8, 2020. However, the last day of submission has now been postponed to May 23, 2020.

While BSNL did not specify the reason for postponement, the move has reportedly been taken in the wake of the nationwide lockdown.

In January 2020, BSNL has announced its plans to come out with a tender inviting companies to roll out its 4G network soon. As per industry sources, Samsung, ZTE, Nokia, Ericsson and ITI Limited are planning to bid for carrying out works for BSNL’s ninth phase of 4G expansion and upgradation plan.
