Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has signed an agreement with Ahmedabad-based information technology solutions provider Sai InfoSystem (SIS) to set up four internet data centres across the country.
These data centres will be established at Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chertala (Kerala). They will offer cloud-based services like software-as-a-service, microsoft exchange (email service)-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and storage- as-a-service to customers.
The data centers are likely to help BSNL in tapping opportunities presented by cloud business in the country. BSNL is expecting a business of Rs 750 million from the four data centres in the financial year 2012-2013.
