Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched its indigenous 4G core in Telangana. With the 4G core network now operational, BSNL customers in the region can enjoy high-speed internet.

This is being supported by a consortium led by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) which includes Tejas Networks and Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT). The core is being supplied by C-DoT while radio access network (RAN) equipment is being supplied by Tejas Networks. TCS acts as a systems integrator and will also be responsible for network maintenance.

BSNL has deployed and commissioned over 41,000 4G sites, with over 50,000 sites completed. In addition, the public sector undertaking aims to reach 0.1 million 4G sites with indigenous technology by mid-2025, with the core capable of switching to 5G with a simple upgrade.
