Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has partnered with IT firm Data Infosys to introduce email service called XGen for its subscribers.

The email service is targeted at personal users as well as the operator?s clients in the enterprise segment. BSNL is offering XGen service to its 7.5 million broadband subscribers across the country.

The users availing the service will be able to attach files up to 1 GB and send 5,000 emails per day. One of the key features of XGen includes rights management, which empowers the sender to control actions such as deleting, forwarding, replying and printing of the e-mail by the recipient.

Other key features of the email service include one time password, dual authentication for advanced security, image compression, multiple e-mail compose, personalised group e-mail, secured hidden attachments and encryption.
