
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited?s (BSNL) Kozhikode SSA division has proposed to open 26 new Customer service centres (CSC) across the region to facilitate better customer service. Further, the proposed CSC’s at Westhill, Pantheerankavu, Ramanattukara and Edachery telephone exchange buildings are likely to be functional shortly.
Kozhikode SSA comprises of two revenue districts of Kozhikode and Wayanad and caters to a population of 3.65 million. At present, there are 24 CSCs in Kozhikode SSA, termed as “company owned sales outlets” facilitating the customers for the payment of bills, booking of new services, change of plans, recharging and top-ups.
BSNL intends to add 198,000 mobile customers for which more 2G and 3G Base Tower Stations are proposed to be added to cater the needs of mobile subscribers during 2014-15.
Further, BSNL Kozhikode SSA is planning to provide 52,000 broadband connections in 2014-15. Along with this, it is planning to install 1,000 Fibre to the Home (FTTH) connections to emerging high-rise buildings, which will provide high-speed internet, with downloading speed up to 100 mbps.
