Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has issued advanced purchase orders (APOs) worth Rs 150 billion, for the construction of 100,000 4G sites, to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and ITI Limited.
According to industry sources, a fifth of these 4G sites will be deployed by ITI, as they will be issued a circle-wise purchase order to procure the equipment. The company has a 20 per cent reservation in BSNL’s next-generation network deployment.
The Group of Ministers (GoM) had approved deploying 100,000 sites for the rollout of BSNL’s 4G network on May 8, 2023, for the rollout of BSNL’s 4G network which included the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and Tejas Networks.
