Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has inked a $24 million contract with UT Starcom. As per the terms of the same, UT Starcom will provide the operator with multi-service access network (MSAN) equipment and support design, engineering and installation.
The scope of the contract includes upgrading the operator?s consumer and enterprise broadband services across the western and northern regions of the country.
BSNL is upgrading its network to offer next generation multimedia services. The upgrade entails migrating existing PSTN/ISDN customers to next generation networks (NGN) to support services using internet protocol and basic telephony.
