BSNL has asked its state units to appoint private recovery agents on a commission basis to assist in the recovery of dues from subscribers and private operators.

BSNL has asked its state units to appoint private recovery agents on a commission basis to assist in the recovery of dues from subscribers and private operators. The dues amounted to Rs 54.88 billion as on January 31, 2008. The units have also been asked to use the services of state government departments for recovery of dues. The dues have accumulated due to many customers not paying their bills on time, changing their premises, or switching to other operators after defaulting on payment. BSNL has issued instructions to all the concerned private service providers to make the payments.
