Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has added 67,430 new users in July within the Assam circle. Additionally, BSNL in Andhra Pradesh has seen an increase of 100,000 connections in just 20 days, marking a rapid growth in subscriber numbers.

This surge is attributed to the tariff increases implemented by private telecom operators, despite BSNL’s ongoing rollout of 4G services not being fully completed.

Further, BSNL is implementing a domestically developed 4G network stack provided by a consortium led by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which also includes Tejas Networks and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT). This 4G saturation initiative is part of a government effort to ensure that even remote and rural areas have access to high-speed mobile networks, similar to what urban residents experience.
