Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has extended the validity of all prepaid accounts till May 5, 2020. With this move, BSNL has allowed its prepaid users to make and receive calls even without a recharge. This comes in the wake of facilitating users who are unable to recharge their phones amidst the lockdown.
According to a statement released by BSNL, the move has been taken in view of the hardships faced by subscribers whose validity has expired during the lockdown period and are having almost zero balance.
Additionally, the telco has also introduced a toll-free recharging helpline – 5670099 for its users to avail prepaid recharge. This number is already available for users in the North and West zones and it will be available in the East and South zones starting April 22, 2020.
Recently, Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea also announced free incoming calls to their low income prepaid users till May 3, 2020.
