Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has shown interest in setting up a nuclear power plant to meet its energy needs. BSNL has responded to a request for proposal (RFP) from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) to establish two 220MW Bharat Small Reactors (BSRs) as captive units.
In addition, the public sector undertaking is seeking details on land requirements, carbon credit implications, suitability for urban deployment, and other specifications related to the project.
