Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the deployment of 5,000 indigenous 4G sites in Kerala. As of now, the telecom operator has also installed over 65,000 4G sites across India using indigenous technology.

This advancement brings BSNL closer to its goal of deploying 100,000 indigenous 4G sites throughout India by June 2025.  The technology stack which BSNL has deployed for 4G can be switched to 5G with a software upgrade.

After achieving this milestone, BSNL intends to deploy 5G technology with the help of Indian companies, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) prepared to assist in upgrading the 4G sites to 5G.
