The 5G fixed-wireless access (FWA) proof of concept (PoC) has been concluded in Visakhapatnam, carried out by Blue Cloud Softech Solutions (BCSSL) in partnership with Orange Business Services. The PoC was conducted at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) Mindi Exchange in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The PoC was executed and validated through the deployment of a 5G access network, radio equipment, customer premises equipment, and core network elements, enabling the partners to assess real-world field conditions for BSNL’s 5G FWA offering.
Additionally, all planned test cases were successfully validated, with parameters such as latency, jitter, throughput, session setup, and connection stability closely monitored. The exercise was executed as intended, and all key performance indicators were met.
Further, the PoC demonstrated interoperability between the QuadGen radio access network (RAN), the Hewlett Packard Enterprise core, BSNL’s transport infrastructure, authentication, authorisation and accounting systems, and the broadband network gateway (BNG), paving the way for scalable and commercial 5G fixed broadband deployment.
