Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reportedly finished its 5G pilot and will shortly commence fifth generation (5G) services, as per a senior executive of the state-run telco.

The executive noted that both the government and BSNL’s management are making investments and pursuing internal reforms to deliver more customer-centric services. He added that artificial intelligence (AI) will be pivotal in the shift from 5G to 6G.

He further said that government policies for the space sector will enable satellite communications (satcom) in India, and that a combination of satellite, fibre, and radio networks will help bridge connectivity gaps across the country’s varied terrain.
