Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has commissioned an additional 10 Gbps international bandwidth from Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh for providing high-quality and high-speed Internet to Tripura’s Agartala.
The Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) is providing BSNL with a subsidy/support of 80 per cent for a period of three years for the total 20 Gbps commissioned bandwidth. In addition, high-speed internet is expected to facilitate the establishment of software parks and data centres for businesses while enabling citizens to use e-governance services.
Earlier, on November 26, 2022, BSNL had commissioned additional 10 Gbps bandwidth at Agartala on last year for the north-eastern states.
