BSNL and MTNL have joined hands to build a submarine cable system from India to Singapore and Malaysia and another to West Asia, which will be extended up to the US and Europe. The cable will provide international bandwidth for the PSUs’ own as well as commercial requirements. The project, which will involve an estimated investment of Rs 12 billion, will include an undersea link from India to Singapore and a land link from Singapore to Malaysia. BSNL is also set to launch its undersea cable with Sri Lanka shortly.
