Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has achieved the 1,000 4G sites milestone under the saturation project. BSNL aims to cover the rural or uncovered villages with high-speed internet connectivity under the project. The telco is also deploying a homegrown 4G technology stack.

As per the telco, the network core is being provided by Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT). Meanwhile, Tejas Networks is the provider of radio gear and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is acting as the systems integrator and further aims to maintain the networks for BSNL.

In addition, BSNL is also upgrading around 0.1 million 4G sites throughout India. The telco also aims to launch homegrown 4G and 5G for which the spectrum has already been reserved for the telco through multiple relief packages announced in the last five years.
