Brookfield Asset Management Company’s infrastructure arm, Brookfield Infrastructure has entered into an agreement with K Raheja Corporation to acquire nearly 30-acre land in Navi Mumbai’s Airoli area for around Rs 5.5 billion.

Brookfield Infrastructure is planning to develop, own and operate an institutional data centre on the said land parcel.

The move comes after Brookfield Infrastructure recently formed a joint venture (JV) with Digital Realty for setting up and operating data centres in the country under the brand BAM Digital Realty.

The JV is also planning to buy land parcels in other parts of the country to set up data centres.
