Strengthening its management team, Brocade has appointed Chee Keong Lam as director of data centre fabric and virtualisation for Asia Pacific (APAC), and Beni Sia as regional director for South East Asia. Based out of Singapore, both Lam and Sia will be responsible for driving the company?s data centre and software-defined networking (SDN) strategy across the regions.
Lam will report to Matt Kolon, Brocade?s chief technology officer for APAC. With over 20 years of networking experience, Lam?s last assignment was with Juniper Networks, where he was tasked with driving thought leadership and large customer engagements for the company?s data centre solution, spanning routing, switching, and security across Asia Pacific. In the past, he has also held senior positions at organisations such as IBM Global Technology Services, Intel and Novell.
Meanwhile, as regional director for South East Asia, Sia will be responsible for charting the company?s strategic direction and growth for the region, and driving customer adoption of Brocade Ethernet fabric and software networking solutions. He will report directly to Adam Judd, Brocade vice-president for APAC. With over two decades of sales and marketing experience across sectors such as telecom, enterprise, and commercial sectors, Sia most recently served as the country director for Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines and Indo-China at Juniper Networks.
Commenting on the appointments, Judd, said, ?The addition of Lam and Sia to our regional leadership team validates our strong commitment to South East Asia and APAC as we continue to foster our leadership in data center and software networking across the region. APAC is forecast to become the second biggest revenue contributor in the global SDN market by 2019, and our leading position in Ethernet fabric adoption and software networking will put us in an excellent position to leverage these imminent opportunities to deliver agile and flexible networks for our customers.?
