
BPL Mobile is exploring fund-raising options (equity as well as debt) to start services in 22 circles over the next two years. According to company officials, BPL Mobile will require $2.5 billion for startng services in these circles by end-2009. The company is also mulling the option of a public float. BPL Mobile, which operates in only the Mumbai circle, is also looking at roping in an equity partner for its pan-Indian telecom foray and is believed to have started discussions with several potential partners.
