Bharti Airtel may have to pay more than Rs 18 billion to buy out the Telecom Consultants of India?s (TCIL) 30 per cent stake in its subsidiary Bharti Hexacom, according to consultants hired by TCIL for the same.
Following this, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has approached the empowered group of ministers (EGoM) to finalise the reserve price based on the consultants? report. The EGoM will also consider a report by a committee of directors appointed by TCIL to process its disinvestment.
