Bharti Airtel does not plan to delist its Zambian unit Celtel Zambia from the Lusaka bourse, according to news reports. Bharti, which currently owns about 78 percent in the unit offered minority shareholders 710 kwacha ($0.152) per share of the unit.

According to Manoj Kohli, CEO (international) and joint managing director, Bharti Airtel, “We do not have any intention to delist. Of course some shareholders will sell their shares, but many of them will stay on.?

Bharti acquired the African telecoms assets of Kuwaiti group Zain in a $9 billion deal in June 2010, giving it access to what it says is the biggest future continent for telecoms, and making it the world’s fifth-biggest mobile operator.
