Bharti Infratel is planning to buy telecom towers of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular in seven out of 22 circles in the country. Bharti Infratel intends to purchase towers in the seven circles where Indus Towers, a joint venture between Bharti Infratel, Vodafone and Aditya Birla Telecom, does not operate and the company is the sole operator.

Accordingly, the company is looking forward to buy telecom towers in the regions where there is no overlapping of business with Indus Towers. These circles are Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and Northeastern circles.

At present, Bharti Infratel has over 36,381 standalone telecom towers spread under 11 telecom circles in 18 states.
