Bharti Global, the international investment arm of Bharti Enterprises, has completed the acquisition of 24.5 per cent of issued share capital of BT Group PLC from Altice UK. Bharti Global will buy a 9.99 per cent stake in BT Group from Patrick Drahi’s Altice immediately via open market trade through Bharti Televentures. The remaining 14.51 per cent will be bought after it gets regulatory clearances.

As per Bharti Global, it has long recognised the enormous potential of the BT Group. Meanwhile, as per BT Group, Bharti’s scale of investment is a vote of confidence in the group’s future.

The announcement for acquisition was made in August 2024 that the company would buy 24.5 per cent stake in BT Group for about $ 4 billion to become the single largest shareholder in the company.
