The country?s leading operator, Bharti Airtel?s subscriber base has reached 200 million, says news reports. At present, Bharti Airtel is the largest operator in India, both in terms of customers and revenues.

The operator is providing 2G, 3G and 4G services to users through 1.5 million outlets in about 465,776 villages and towns across the country. Bharti Airtel has a distribution network comprising 1.5 million sales outlets and provides services to 86.7 per cent of the country?s population.

Having won spectrum in the 1800 MHz and the 900 MHz band in the latest round of spectrum auction, the operator plans to further build a robust data network to capture significant share of mobile broadband market in India. In addition, the company is also exploring inorganic growth opportunities. The operator has recently acquired Loop Telecom in a deal worth Rs 7 billion.
