Bharti Airtel has upgraded the speed of its wireline broadband connections to a minimum speed of 2Mbps across 14 cities.

In the other 80 cities where the operator offers the service, consumers can avail of a minimum speed of 1 Mbps. All the upgrades are being done in phases and will be completed by end-January 2012.

The 14 cities are Delhi, the National Capital Region, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Bhopal and Kolkata. Consumers will have to pay between Rs 50 and Rs 100 for the upgrade.
