Bharti airtel may acquire a stake in NetOne, Zimbabwe‘s third largest mobile operator.

According to Reward Kangai, managing director, NetOne, four companies, including Bharti airtel and South Africa-based MTN were competing for a 60 per cent stake in the operator.

Prior to this, Zimbabwe had agreed to allow foreign holdings in NetOne, in an attempt to finance the operator?s expansion plans. It was earlier reported that NetOne would require an annual investment of $100 million to fund its expansion plans and rollout 3G and data services.
