
Bharti Airtel has launched a new broadband scheme. Called Smartbyte, the scheme permits customers who exceed the data usage threshold under existing plans to purchase an additional quota for a fixed price.
According to K. Srinivas, president, consumer business, Bharti Airtel, “Customers who often exceed thr usage of their allocated quota have to pay per megabyte, starting from Re 0.20 per MB. We will now offer them the option to buy additional data for a fixed price as per their need.?
He added that under the new Smartbyte scheme, customers will be given the option to choose from packs starting at Rs 99 for 1 gigabyte (GB) to Rs 1,499 for 50 GB.
“This additional data will be offered at the same internet speed the customer has subscribed to,” he said.
