Bharti Airtel has launched a Euro bond issue to raise $1 billion through bond sales to European investors.
The company plans to fund the forthcoming spectrum auction in India through funds raised from the Euro bond issue. Bharti Airtel is offering its investors Euro bonds which are valid for five years and the money is being raised through its wholly owned Bharti Airtel International (Netheralnds) BV.
The bond issue is being managed by various banks including J.P. Morgan, Barclays, UBS Investment Bank, Standard Chartered and BNP Paribas.
