Bharti Airtel has partnered with the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to launch a ticket booking facility. The service will deploy the Airtel Money platform and is available for customers in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
The service will enable users to book and cancel tickets, search for stations, trains, etc. It functions on an unstructured supplementary service data technology-based platform.
Commenting on the launch, Sarang Kanade, chief executive officer, upper North, Bharti Airtel, says, ?Our integration with IRCTC for reserved ticketing is a step to empower our customers specifically beyond the urban footprint with the convenience of booking tickets without the need of holding a bank account or an Internet connection.?
