Bharti Airtel has entered into exclusive talks with Kuwaiti telecom group Zain until March 25, 2010, for acquiring the latter’s African operations. Zain has reportedly agreed to offload its African assets to Bharti Airtel in a deal valued at $10.7 billion. This potential transaction does not include Zain’s operations in Morocco and Sudan. Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has stated that the completion of the deal was subject to due diligence, customary regulatory approvals and findings of the final transaction documentation.
