Bharti Airtel Limited has filed a review petition with the Supreme Court (SC) challenging an earlier order that barred the correction of arithmetical errors in the calculation of adjusted gross revenue (AGR).
Airtel’s petition comes just days after rival Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) moved SC to have the top court examine alleged calculation errors by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), which have affected the two telcos the most.
As part of its appeal, Airtel has sought the apex court’s attention to the miscalculations made by DoT. According to Airtel, DoT has already received Rs 180 billion from the company and owes Rs 130.04 billion to it. If the SC rejects Airtel’s latest petition, then it will still have the option to file a curative appeal.
